With the efforts of Mrs. Dodd, the mayor of Spokane and the governor of Washington state publicly expressed their approval, so Washington state held the world's first Father's Day party on June 19, 1910.

In 1924, U.S. President Coolidge supported Father's Day as a national holiday in the United States; in 1966, U.S. President Johnson announced that the third Sunday in June of that year was Father's Day in the United States; in 1972, U.S. President Richard Nixon The third Sunday (Sunday) in June is Father's Day across the United States.
